Key words: consciousness science, event segmentation, fMRI, binding problem
My project with Dr. Jeremy Skipper centres on the scientific study of consciousness. The aim of my project is to correlate human annotated event segments with neural signatures signalling changes at event boundaries, in order to provide exploratory evidence for the philosophical binding problem.

Empirically, I am working with the lab’s open-access, naturalistic fMRI dataset, NNDb (https://www.naturalistic-neuroimaging-database.org/index.html). During data collection, participants watched full-length films in an fMRI scanner.

My work has a strong theoretical foundation, integrating insights from both philosophy of mind & science, as well as film & multimedia studies.
